Most of us don’t think twice about energy or how we use it. Jessica Hoy shares her technical knowledge to help customers make conscious choices that save energy and lower costs. Everyone benefits! That excites Jessica in her work as an energy engineer.
Jessica describes herself as “not your typical engineer.” She is outgoing, talkative, and usually has a smile on her face. She earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and became interested in the energy field through an internship with San Diego Gas and Electric. She learned to tackle new experiences and challenges head on without fear of failing.
Someday, Jessica plans to own a farm, complete with horses, goats, and cows. For now, she leads an active life and loves being outside, doing just about any outdoor activity imaginable. She and her husband enjoy traveling and spending time with their dogs. Of course, every engineer has at least one geeky trait—in Jessica’s case, she speaks “fluent Harry Potter.” Expelliarmus! (Her charm is a little disarming.)
