Most of the businesses Margit Barot encounters really want to reduce their energy consumption, but barriers get in the way. He tracks down technologies and incentives that match their requirements and helps them secure rebates—eliminating hassles that keep companies from saving energy.
Margit believes in continuous improvement. He moved to the United States from India in 2011 and earned his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University. Along the way, he became certified by the American Society of Quality as a Six Sigma Green Belt. That means he has mastered strategies, techniques and tools that improve business processes. He also is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) through the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
Whether out in the field for an energy audit, back at the office crunching numbers, or on his free time, Margit enjoys the challenges each day brings. He is a die-hard sports fan and passionate supporter of the Manchester United Football Club (although he gives honorable mention to the New York Giants, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Lakers, and New Jersey Devils). Challenge Margit to a ping pong tournament or badminton game, and you will see his competitive streak. He also enjoys trying new foods, getting to know people, and learning about different cultures, beliefs, and philosophies.
