Scott Schoolmeesters is a “morning person,” who wakes before his alarm rings and leaps out of bed to tackle the day. He often has a basketball game or bike ride in before most folks head to work. Combine this zeal for life with a passion for energy efficiency and desire to make a difference, and you can see why Scott is a powerful advocate in the field of energy management.
Scott has worked full time in the energy management sector since 2002, building upon a 20-year career in facility operations. His experience includes commercial/industrial project consulting, sales tax exemption studies, administration of utility energy conservation programs, and more than 300 commercial/industrial energy audits. He also has conducted dozens of third-party electric supply contracts and negotiated custom delivery and transportation rates for numerous large industrial customers.
Scott’s resume is packed with impressive credentials. He is a Crown College graduate who completed Master of Education coursework at the University of St. Thomas and has earned professional certification as a Minnesota Commercial Energy Auditor, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Demand Side Manager (CDSM), and Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP).
When it is time to unwind, Scott enjoys visiting a quiet lake in Ontario, Canada, away from cell service and Internet, and spending time with his two grandchildren. He and his wife have three adult children, who have transitioned from “kids” to friends.
