Turner Perkins, Associate Energy Engineer

Turner likes to leave places better than he found them. Helping commercial customers identify and implement energy-saving strategies in their facilities is a great way to do that.

As an associate energy engineer, Turner visits commercial and industrial sites to analyze how businesses use electricity and natural gas. He recommends cost-effective process improvements and facility upgrades that qualify for utility rebates, then helps customers access these resources.

Turner graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in May 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a minor in electrical engineering. An internship at Indianapolis Power and Light led him to explore a career in energy efficiency. He describes himself as easy going, but also analytical, task oriented and level headed. These qualities will come in handy as he teaches clients the multiple positive impacts of energy conservation and sustainability.

A former college soccer player, Turner still loves to play, watch, and coach the game. He also enjoys hiking, camping, and being outdoors, especially while exploring the country’s magnificent national parks. He has visited 11 so far and hopes to experience many more in the future.
