“As a nonprofit, there’s never enough money to go around.”
These very true words were spoken by Duane Feser, Director of Environmental Services for the Sleepy Eye Care Center. It’s a struggle that many NPOs, especially small ones, are very familiar with.
Cutting costs is often about survival, and the Sleepy Eye Care Center was looking to do just that by upgrading its facility to incorporate newer, more energy efficient technology. In doing so, Sleepy Eye Care Center, along with help from CMPAS and its partner Energy Insight was able to cut its annual energy bills by 5%. It is expected to see a 15 to 20 percent reduction in annual electric consumption in the next 3 to 5 years.
On top of the healthy savings, there was an additional benefit to the elderly residents at the facility. Find out what that was, along with more information on how the Sleepy Eye Care Center cut its energy costs with CMPAS, by reading the latest CMPAS blog.
